Last summer I shot Chris and Patricia’s wedding at the Denver Art Museum. On thursday the New York Times did an article about weddings at art museums that included their wedding with their photo in print and a link to our video on line! Here is the New York Times article.
Model Portfolio Shoot
I always enjoy working with a model on a model portfolio both in the studio and on location. Jen Murphy is an amazing, experienced hair and make up artist. She has a new web site promoting safe, eco friendly beauty products. Here are a few photos from Virginia’s shoot.
Yoga photography in the studio
I have always found yoga to be one of the most deceivingly difficult things to photograph. It shouldn’t be so hard, but it is – kind of like yoga itself. Here are a few promo shots we did for her website and marketing materials. I love the black and white plastic camera effect on a few of these. Angel is one of the best teachers in Boulder in my opinion. You can learn more about her yoga at shriyoga.
Christy and Dan
Christy and Dan had a beautiful ceremony in their “backyard” in Boulder, Colorado. They got so lucky with the weather – it snowed the day before and the day after their wedding. After the ceremony we did a shoot with just Christy and Dan and their dogs around their property that was really fun. They had a small reception the following evening at the Kitchen in Boulder. I love the Kitchen!
Jennifer and George
Jennifer and George had an awesome Colorado wedding. The ceremony was at St. Malo and the reception at the St. Julien Hotel in Boulder, Colorado. They put together a great team which made the day flow flawlessly. Jeremy is a fantastic make up artist who stepped in whenever they needed him for anything. Lynn from A Brighter Day did an amazing job on the flowers both at St. Malo and the St. Julien. Chrissy Flater was the wedding coordinator who helped everyone and saved the day with her sewing kit. Thanks for having me as your photographer guys!
Katie and John
Despite the weather, Katie and John shone at their wedding. The Omni Interlocken Resort in Broomfield, Colorado was a great place to photograph a wedding. The guys pink sox were a fun surprise and how great is Katie’s smile? I also liked the pocket watches John gave to his groomsmen.
Dan and Christine
Dan and Christine had a fun rehearsal dinner at the Greenbriar Inn followed by a very classy wedding at the St. Julien Hotel in Boulder. With Spice from Calluna Events helping we could totally focus on the couple and the wedding photography. A good wedding coordinator takes the stress off of everyone. I like the lighting we created at the St Julien with a back light bouncing off the ceiling to add some separation. Thanks to Michael Morten for his help shooting at the St. Julien in Boulder Colorado.
Adrienne and Mark
Adrienne and Mark got married at the Canyon House, at the base of Boulder Canyon in Boulder, Colorado. It is a beautiful small private home by the creek that is available for fundraisers and private functions. Adrienne and Mark are so wonderful together, and like their engagement shoot, we had a lot of fun together and got beautiful wedding images. I felt very honored to be the wedding photographer for these two artists. The catering was by Eat Catering and was terrific. The Apple Valley Bluegrass Band played at the reception, along with beat innovator Bill Mitsakos. There were a lot of compliments.
Adam’s senior session at Chautauqua
It was great to shoot Adam since I did his sister’s senior photos a few years ago. They are both really fun to work with and very photogenic. After shooting at Chautauqua in the bright sun we were on our way to Boulder Creek to shoot and came across this old fire engine. There wasn’t any parking by the creek so we took advantage of the fire engine. Thanks to John from Farmers Insurance for letting us use his fire truck.
Elanaspantry.com
This is the third shoot Elana and I have done together and every time we get better images. Elana has Celiac disease so she can’t eat foods with gluten. She is an amazingly resourceful woman and has created a web site devoted to gluten free cooking, elanaspantry.com. Her new cookbook is available on Amazon.com. Here is an article in the Daily Camera about her. You would never know her recipes are missing anything. I get to taste a few of her recipes made with almond flour during the shoots and they have all been just teriffic.
