This dance shoot with Lauren was surprisingly different than India’s – not in a better or worse way but just different. I shouldn’t be surpised – different person, style and music. Lauren has a very unique and expressive style. Its all about the individual. The serendipitious drive through of the red Corvette was awesome!

What a beautiful afternoon in Boulder, CO to do an engagement session of this wonderful family to be. Ripley, their cute dog, cooperated to the best of her ability given all the interesting smells. Emily must be an amazing dessert chef given where she has worked and I’m looking forward to trying her desserts this summer at the Tasterie Truck. Thanks for a great photo shoot!
One of my favorite subjects to photograph is dance, and I’ll be photographing several dancers over the next few months. Capturing their gestures at just the right moment is thrilling. I’ve also started to incorporate video and music into the still photography. I find the final multi media result is quite powerful and beautiful. India was great to work with and she is a mesmerizing dancer to watch.

That is what seventy high rollers got as a thank you from Ameristar Casino in Black Hawk at an event to show Ameristar’s appreciation for their best customers. In case you’re wondering, I didn’t get one.
Alex planned this so well. Their families and myself were hiding in front of Farrand Hall on the CU campus. He popped the question in front of Farrandl Hall, she obviously said yes, and cheers erupted from all the people playing on Farrand field. Celebration and family portraits followed.
Kelly and Eric’s wedding at the historic Hotel Boulderado was unique in many ways. First, the chandelier shop Chantique caught her eye on our photo walk around downtown Boulder and the owner let us take some amazing wedding photos there. After our walk we met up with the bridal party and family at the Corner Bar in the hotel just to have some down time and fun before the ceremony. I heard Kelly say this was one of her favorite parts of her wedding day. Finally, the ceremony was held not on the famous staircase landing but on the far end of the mezzanine for a more intimate wedding ceremony. I really enjoyed this destination wedding for this wonderful couple from Kansas City.
Jordan and Christine ‘s wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateaux in Estes Park, CO was the first wedding I did after the floods. It was an adventure getting there as US 36 was washed out. The Della Terra staff did an amazing job as there wasn’t any signs of damage from the flood. The day turned out to be beautiful with a few light flurries. This little gem of a wedding venue outside the Rocky Mountain National Park makes you feel like you are in Tuscany. The funky wedding shoes were made by the groom’s sister, the beautiful flowers were by Boulder Blooms, the terrific latin food by Centro (we got to sample everything), the fun wedding DJ was A Music Plus, and it was great to see the ceremony bagpiper was Scott. Thanks Christine for the great day and performing the Irish jig at your wedding reception!
This was a very special wedding for me to photograph. Paul and Erin live behind my photography studio in Boulder, CO and I have known them for many years. About a year ago Erin was hit by a car on her bike and severely injured. The recovery was long and difficult but here she is at her wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch after she and Paul road their mountain bikes here the day before from Eldora! Big thanks to photojournalist Sharon Steinman for second shooting with me. That 80’s Band was awesome! Kara Delay did the beautiful flowers and wedding planning, the chic wedding dress by Nicole Miller, and the incredible wedding cake was by Intricate Icings.
I love weddings that go to several different sites as it adds a variety of possibilities to the images. Matt is from Boulder and wanted to include his parent’s beautiful house overlooking North Boulder, the flagstaff amphitheater and the Konig Alumni Center at CU. All great locations for wedding photography. There was a priceless moment when they were about to kiss at the end of the wedding ceremony and their dog began to howl! The organic spirits were from Altitude Spirits, the amazing food by Krave Catering, and the music by Mile High Soul Club. A genuine, fun and classy couple.
