These young rock musicians had so much attitude in front of the camera. It was fun to step into the Denver urban environment for a few days for these rock musician portraits. We had a challenging couple of shoots with the weather but the results are stunning! These kids rock! Thanks to Lydia at GlobalSound for organizing all of these photography shoots so well.
Sonia and Mike’s elegant Boulder Wedding
I first met Sonia when I did her corporate portraits so it was great to get to see her again to do the photography for her wedding. Sonia and Mike are into great food, wine and family. They had a very small and elegant wedding at their home in Boulder, CO. The details were beautiful; the flowers by Fiori Flowers, the food by Catering by Design and all coordinated by Heather at Calluna Events.
Ashley and Mike’s Boulder Engagement Session
Thanks Ashley , the timing was just right to catch the spring colors around Boulder for their beautiful engagement photography session. I love hiking a little to find the best mountain portrait locations. Looking forward to their wedding this summer!
Shannon and Per’s Wedding at the Hotel Boulderado
It can be risky getting married in March but Shannon and Per had a beautiful day. I wasn’t surprised we got great wedding photos – the wedding was well planned, Shannon and Per looked outstanding, family and friends were wonderful, and they had great wedding vendors – Flowers by Ellen Cara, Tip Top Music, and Tee and Cakes. Thanks to the Boulderado staff for all their help too. Here are a few of the wedding photographs from their day in Boulder, Colorado.
James and Stephanie’s engagement photo shoot in Boulder, Colorado
This couple from Dallas and I had a wonderful time working together at their engagement session. We started making images in downtown Boulder and then moved into the foothills for some scenic photography backgrounds. It was refreshing to spend some time in the mountains with people who don’t live here, lest I forget how special this place is I call home. Stephanie is the second person this year I have photographed who sings professional opera!
Boulder, Colorado Engagement Shoot
The dramatic scenery just outside Boulder is great for engagement portraits. Shannon and Per were adventurous rock climbers who went places I didn’t dare step foot. The weather was cool but we still had fun exploring the mountain site and making these fun engagement photos. I anticipated a mountain lion to come around the corner at any moment but she never did.
Shauna and Jeff’s wedding at Wild Basin Lodge
Shauna and Jeff had a beautiful small wedding at Wild Basin Lodge, in Rocky Mountain National Park. The wind was howling about 45 miles an hour as we photographed them outside after the wedding reception, but the light was perfect, the temperature not too bad for January in Estes Park, and Shauna and Jeff were so happy just to be in the Colorado mountains for their wedding photography it was just plain fun. Shauna’s sister, who owns Shamane’s Bakke Shoppe in Boulder, CO, made the gorgeous desserts. They tasted as good as they look. The wedding DJ, Jay Kacik, for the first time I have seen it, played the Bob the Builder song for their little boy who sang the words and danced tirelessly – as Sendak said, “let the rompus begin!”
Wedding Ceremony at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Boulder, Colorado
I recently met with a couple to be their wedding photographer at St. Johns. Here are some of my favorite images taken on film from this beautiful church in Boulder, CO.
Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado
My good friend Christian and I took an amazing two day camping trip to the sand dunes in Colorado at the end of October. It is a magical place that I am looking forward to going back to this Spring. Here are a few photographs from the Sand Dunes.
Boulder Country Club Wedding
It was great to be the wedding photographer for Emily and Hedi’s beautiful wedding at the Boulder Country Club. It was fun to put some nostalgic effects on some of the wedding photos and they work perfectly with her dress and parasol. Both families were so great – his from LA and hers from Iowa. I look forward to telling some more stories about them down the road. The gorgeous cake was from Shamane’s Bakery in Boulder, Colorado.
