Erin and Paul at Devil’s Thumb Ranch, Tabernash, CO

October 18, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

This was a very special wedding for me to photograph.  Paul and Erin live behind my photography studio in Boulder, CO and I have known them for many years.  About a year ago Erin was hit by a car on her bike and severely injured.  The recovery was long and difficult but here she is at her wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch after she and Paul road their mountain bikes here the day before from Eldora!  Big thanks to photojournalist Sharon Steinman for second shooting with me.  That 80’s Band was awesome!  Kara Delay did the beautiful flowers and wedding planning, the chic wedding dress by Nicole Miller, and the incredible wedding cake was by Intricate Icings.

Amy and Matt: a Boulder wedding

August 28, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

I love weddings that go to several different sites as it adds a variety of possibilities to the images.  Matt is from Boulder and wanted to include his parent’s beautiful house overlooking North Boulder, the flagstaff amphitheater and the Konig Alumni Center at CU.    All great locations for wedding photography.   There was a priceless moment when they were about to kiss at the end of the wedding ceremony and their dog began to howl!  The organic spirits were from Altitude Spirits, the amazing food by Krave Catering, and the music by Mile High Soul Club.  A genuine, fun and classy couple.

Ruth and Ben

July 8, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

Ruth and Ben had their wedding ceremony at Harlow Platts Park in South Boulder.  The wedding photography really captures how happy they are being a young couple in love.  What an incredible backdrop the Boulder foothills can make!  I loved the processional for this jewish wedding with the rabbi and 4 huppa holders as they marched across the grass to the ceremony.  It was as if we had been transported to another century.  I also loved the ketubah  (jewish marriage license) ceremony where their families all handed it to them.  The reception was at the Hotel Boulderado – love their service and food!  It was  fun to try the different delicious pies from the Walnut Cafe.  The flowers were  from Ame Clas at Whole Foods.  The fantastic bluegrass music was by the Railsplitters.

Denver Country Club Wedding: Catherine and Luke

May 10, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

This was such a gorgeous and fun wedding to photograph at the Denver Country Club.  I love the wedding details with meaning like the letter and the four leaf clover from her grandmother!  The bride and groom were so playful together – I am not a golfer but I love the shots on the golf course.  They chose my favorite albums –  a beautiful Matted Seldex Album that matches the elegance of the Denver Country Club.  The flowers came from Cori Cook, the cake from Azucar Bakery, the music by the Nacho Men and the couture styled (how fun is it to say this?) wedding dress by Mikaella.

Boulder wedding: Jordan + Matt

March 5, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

I am really excited to share this Boulder wedding because of all the cool wedding day details Jordan created and the whirlwind photo tour of downtown Boulder, CO we incorporated into the day.  It started with a first look at Chautauqua, followed by a wedding ceremony and reception at a nearby private residence.  In between this and the evening wedding reception (which was at Mateo since Jordan and Matt are in the wine biz and the food there is awesome), we stopped at the St. Julien Hotel bar and Boulder Theater for some  super  fun wedding photo shoots.

Heather and Mark’s Aspen Destination Wedding

February 4, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

Aspen, Colorado has been a home away from home for Heather and Mark and was a natural choice for their wedding.  They started the day off at the Limelight Hotel and then headed over to the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies for their wedding ceremony and reception.  Mark is an architect and did an incredible job turning ACES into an even more magical wedding venue than it already is.  I love the simple lace at the ceremony; it looks like a wedding veil and it reminds me of a Christo installation.  If you want to learn more about Christo check out his page on Artsy’s website.  This tiny wedding at ACES with just their family had as much energy as any other wedding.  One of my favorite weddings to photograph in 2012.

Phil and Jill’s wedding in Boulder CO

September 21, 2012 by admin Leave a Comment

We had such a wonderful time with Phil and Jill at their wedding.  They were so excited for their wedding day and played it up for their photographers!  Both practice martial arts and they spontaneously did some kind of tummy bump after the ceremony and we were there to photograph it.  This couple can swing dance!  Check out the beautiful lift on the dance floor at the Spice of Life Event Center.  The wedding cake was by Shamane’s Bakeshoppe, flowers by Boulder Blooms and the Event Center was magically transformed  by Lighting and Design by Scott.   Thanks for all your enthusiasm and playfulness!  It was so much fun to be your wedding photographers.

Destination wedding in Beaver Creek, CO

August 13, 2012 by admin Leave a Comment

Jen and Joe had a destination wedding at the Ritz Carleton Bachelor Gulch in Beaver Creek. Even though we had to shoot in the middle of the day in the bright light, the wedding photographs still came out well.  With the beautiful mountain wedding resort as a backdrop, and such a great and gorgeous bride and groom, I was very excited to be their wedding photographer.  After a beautiful ceremony at the Beaver Creek Chapel, the couple returned to the Ritz for cocktails and the wedding reception.  The candy bar had different types of candy for guests to fill up little paper bags to take home – love those lemon drops and orange slices!  Pretty sure Joe is going to be president one day.  Incredible live music by The Fever kept everyone having fun and the beautiful flowers were by Cedar’s Flower Shop.

Tove and Simen’s Eclectic Boulder Wedding

July 13, 2012 by admin Leave a Comment

This was a very “Boulder” wedding.  There was even parking for the bikes, and one of the coolest decorated tandems I have ever photographed at a wedding.  Tove is really something in front of the camera.  Her husband, Simen, is from Norway – thus the little Norwegian gnomes on the cake.    The beautiful flowers were by Fiori, the latin food by Centro, and the wedding reception at Boulder Distillery.   Skoal!  (cheers)

Sonia and Mike’s elegant Boulder Wedding

May 31, 2012 by admin Leave a Comment

I first met Sonia when I did her corporate portraits so it was great to get to see her again to do the photography for her wedding.  Sonia and Mike are into great food, wine and family.  They had a very small and elegant wedding at their home in Boulder, CO.  The details were beautiful; the flowers by Fiori Flowers, the food by Catering by Design and all coordinated by Heather at Calluna Events.
